Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Clerk to join our in-house Finance team. As a Senior Accounting Clerk, you will provide essential accounting, bookkeeping, and management support, playing a key role in the operation of our financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, at least 5 years of accounting experience, and a strong background in full-cycle accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing financial statements and reports
- AP and Invoicing.
- Full cycle accounting, including payroll and government remittances (intra-provincial included).
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ yrs of accounting experience.
- Full cycle accounting experience, including payroll and government remittances.
- Proficiency with Quickbooks (desktop), Excel and Word.
- Know how to pull Payroll and WSIB reports from Avionte and use that data to create reports as needed.
- Strong understanding of year over year analysis of costs broken down by division.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
