Audit Accountant

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Accountant to join their growing company. This is a Direct Hire role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage audit engagements: Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements for a variety of clients, including:
- Conducting risk assessments and developing audit plans
- Performing fieldwork, including testing internal controls and substantive procedures
- Preparing and reviewing workpapers and financial statements
- Drafting audit reports and communicating findings to client
- Lead and manage review engagements: Plan, execute, and finalize review engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Manage compilation engagements: Independently handle compilation engagements from start to finish, including preparation of financial statements and accompanying notes.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare personal income tax returns (T1) and corporate income tax returns (T2) as a function of all engagements.
- Client Communication: Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient and successful completion of engagements.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Canadian public accounting experience with a focus on audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (GAAP).
- Experience leading and managing engagements.
- Proficiency in corporate and personal income tax preparation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with accounting software.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing) is considered a strong asset.
