Senior Staff Accountant
$75-85K/Annually
Our client is seeking a qualified Senior Staff Accountant to join their organization. This is a Direct Hire role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform full cycle accounting, including performing day-to-day bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial records, and period-end closing processes
- Handle requests and inquiries from multiple smaller companies, being able to multitask and prioritizing effectively, and adapting to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including visualizing key information into charts and tables
- Oversee project management related to accounting and finance initiatives
- Handle payroll processing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Serve as a liaison between different departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Establishing and enforcing financial processes, procedure, and controls
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Other tasks and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years at a senior level
- CPA designation (Canada) or close to completion, or equivalent qualification
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Expert proficiency in spreadsheets and slides presentations
- Aptitude to research industry benchmarks and integrate findings into regular reporting
- Proficiency in SaaS tools and spreadsheet software, such as Xero and Asana
- Experience with financial analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
