Senior Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a qualified Senior Staff Accountant to join their organization. This is a Direct Hire role.

Responsibilities:

‍

• Manage and perform full cycle accounting, including performing day-to-day bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial records, and period-end closing processes
• Handle requests and inquiries from multiple smaller companies, being able to multitask and prioritizing effectively, and adapting to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including visualizing key information into charts and tables
• Oversee project management related to accounting and finance initiatives
• Handle payroll processing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Serve as a liaison between different departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting
• Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Establishing and enforcing financial processes, procedure, and controls
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Other tasks and projects as assigned by management

Qualifications:

‍

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years at a senior level
• CPA designation (Canada)  or close to completion, or equivalent qualification
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and project management skills
• Expert proficiency in spreadsheets and slides presentations
• Aptitude to research industry benchmarks and integrate findings into regular reporting
• Proficiency in SaaS tools and spreadsheet software, such as Xero and Asana
• Experience with financial analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
